Most weight loss stories start with the person wanting to lose weight for someone else: a loved one, a family member, or for any number of other reasons. The best reason to embark on a journey, however, is self-realization.
Varun Satiza, a 19-year-old teenage boy, realised that he needed to change his appearance not for others but for himself. He resolved to make a permanent change in his way of life. Continue reading to learn more about his inspiring weight loss journey.
The Reason That Motivates Weight Loss
Everyone has a story about why and how they decided to lose weight, but I don't have one. I never paid much attention to my health or body. But one day I suddenly realised that I had gained a significant amount of weight, which could have long-term consequences for me.
I am a young boy about to enter adulthood, and stepping into adulthood with pounds of problems was not my choice. That's when I realised enough was enough and I needed to lose weight to get back in shape. And, while looking for any known and reliable way to lose weight, I came across WFH and read about how people are getting the results they want.
Starting Phase And Procedure Of Transformation Journey
When I first started using the app, the first thing I did was calculate my BMI and TDEE. Based on your age and height, the BMI calculates how much extra body fat you have and what your ideal body weight should be.
TDEE, on the other hand, is the total daily energy consumption, which tells you how many calories you need each day. Also, figure out how many calories you'll need to consume to get calorie-deficient meals.
Diet Followed
All of my meal plans had been created by the WFH team based on my goals. My morning routine usually starts with detox water or warm water with a few drops of lemon. It was mostly around 7 a.m. Then, around 9 a.m., I'd eat my protein and sugar-free milk oats, or two slices of multigrain bread with peanut butter. & any fruit that is in season.
Around 12 p.m., I used to eat one bowl of tandoori paneer salad, one glass of lassi / one bowl of curd, two pieces of Chapati, and one bowl of dal for lunch. It was filling food that kept me satisfied for a long time. I used to snack on 4-5 almonds when I was hungry. Finally, I used to eat any seasonal fruit dish/sprouts and salad for dinner.
Workout Followed to Achieve The Goal
I worked out for over an hour and a half, mostly doing CrossFit, weight lifting, and cardio. A typical CrossFit workout would include 10 minutes of running or Zumba, squats, bench press, shoulder press, and stretching, all of which are necessary for a proper cool down.
The app includes a support system that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it pre-plans all of your workouts.
What Difficulties Were You Facing During The Transformation Journey?
My main body concern was my belly region; over time, I had gained too much belly fat and reducing it was a difficult task for me. However, I'd like to thank the WFH team for helping me in understanding the science behind losing weight in the region.
I gradually continued to work, and I knew that sticking to a consistent diet and workout routine for at least two weeks would yield visible results. This was enough to keep me motivated to keep working out.
How Do You Stay Motivated?
The WFH team was my biggest motivator as they helped me throughout my weight loss journey. The manner in which they explain and even listen to your problems greatly helped me in the journey and achieving the intended results.
What Lifestyle Changes Did You Make?
The only thing I gave to my weight loss journey is time. Before I decided to lose weight, there was no routine in my life. Now I have scheduled a proper time to sleep, exercise and eat my meals.
Lessons Learnt From The Transformation
Simply put, after losing more than 90 kilos of weight, I feel like the best version of myself, both physically and mentally. I've realised that once you set your mind to weight loss, nothing can stop you from reaching your full potential.
